About the BMW ISETTA
The BMW ISETTA (100, 103) was a unique coupe produced from 1958 to 1963. Known for its compact size, it was perfect for city driving and tight parking spaces. This little car was a favorite for those who needed a simple and efficient way to get around town. Its small body and rear-wheel drive made it agile and easy to handle on busy streets.
Under the hood, the BMW ISETTA featured a single-cylinder petrol engine with a displacement of 0.3000 liters. It used an intake manifold injection or carburettor system to deliver fuel, producing a modest 14 PS or 10 kW of power. The engine, known by the code MIDR 06.20.45 E3, was designed without a catalytic converter. While it didn't have ABS, it did include ASR, which helped with traction. This made the ISETTA a simple yet reliable choice for urban commuters.
